Very detailed reference work on goldwork embroidery with many diagrams and illustrations. The special features of the technique are introduced one after the other in the first part of the book. With many illustrations the author describes the different materials and their use. In the slightly shorter second part, she brings beautiful patterns for you to work and makes reference to the explanations of technical details earlier in the book. There are many flowers and insects, a sampler in which a number of characteristics of goldwork are demonstrated, little squares for all kinds of uses, two needle books, an embroidered dragon and a sea-horse.

If you want to add a book on goldwork to your library, this would be a very good choice. If you already have experience of the technique, you will enjoy the patterns and find an interesting tip or two as well.
