Ars Aesis (»the art from Jesi«) is similar to Sorbello embroidery (Punto Umbro). The patterns are embroidered with coloured crochet thread. The book first explains the stitches used, in detail with photographs, and then provides 21 patterns for you to work, all with illustrations and diagrams. The patterns are mostly used to decorate cushions, tablecloths and such.

There is a brief description of Buratto Sfilato, a kind of filet lace for which threads are drawn from the fabric leaving only a grid which is then filled with a pattern (here a rose).
