Christine Mirecki is always good for a surprise: first we got to know her as designer of colourful scarves, hats and waistcoats; then her next publication was about tablecloths and curtains. This time it is something quite different: three-dimensional figures made of bobbin lace: a witch, devil, angel, princess, bride and groom, harlequin, etc. A look at the details, however, makes it clear that the author has remained true to her principles: there are, for example, 8 different head coverings for the figures; top hat, sailor’s cap, cowboy hat, Father Christmas hat, harlequin hat, cap, devil’s cap and witches hat. And naturally the sailor has his sailor’s suit, white with blue stripes, the cowboy has a check shirt, the devil has horns and the ghost almost trips over his too-long robe...

15 delightful figures, each with illustration, lace pricking and brief instructions for working. The lace is not difficult to make; a certain amount of skill is required to put the figures together with wooden heads, hands and feet and pipe cleaners.
